Responsibilities:
Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocolsUtilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical careCommunicate with patient s and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given and to show compassionAct as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as neededWork collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as you r fellow Paramedics Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during callsProvide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirementsLift and move patients as required to provide optimum careCommunicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical informationDrive the ambulance and provide map reading support to minimize call response timeContinuously maintain all Paramedic required certificationsCommunicate with dispatcher to receive and understand call data and customer feedbackMonitor and maintain the general condition of the unit, keep it clean and stocked for optimal call response to maintain the image of AMRDocument activities with regard to patient care and billing completely to ensure appropriate information is available regarding each callFollow policies and procedures regarding out-of-chute times and turnaround timesConsider patient status and insurance preferred facilities when determining transportation destinationsAbility to work past scheduled shift with little or no noticeWork collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnelReports immediately to the on duty supervisor and/or account manager any incident involving a negative customer and/or patient interactionRead road maps, drive vehicles, and accurately discern street signs and address numbersRead medication/prescription labels and directions for usage in quick, accurate, and expedient mannerCommunicate verbally with patients and significant others in various environments to interview patient, family members, and bystandersAbility to discern deviations/changes in eye/skin coloration due to patient's condition and to the treatment givenConverse with dispatcher and EMS providers via phone or radio as to status of patientAdhere to all company policies and proceduresAdherence to and compliance with information systems security policies and proceduresOther
Responsibilities:
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relationsMeets and communicates with existing customers/staff members (including skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital facilities) on a regular basis to ensure that AMR is meeting their needsReports these interactions to the operations and/or account manager on a regular basisPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)Some advanced education preferredCurrent state of Montana Paramedic Certification or application pending Current National Registry Possess a valid State Driver's LicenseCurrent BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policyAbility to pass drug & background screening Ability to pass a physical agility test (PAT)
Experience:
